CLARIAH-NL Summer School Digital Heritage & Humanities 2026
until Thursday, July 9, 2026
Registration has now opened for the 2026 edition of the Summer School in Digital Heritage & Humanities organized by the Common Lab Research Infrastructure for the Arts and Humanities (CLARIAH)!
The event will take place from July 6 to July 9, and will once again be hosted by the wonderful IISG in Amsterdam. The purpose of the summer school is to familiarize participants - from MA students to senior researchers - with digital heritage and humanities approaches that are broadly applicable in the fields of history, heritage studies, oral history, media studies, and the social sciences.
Through plenary lectures, and discussions, participants become familiar with shared interdisciplinary concerns in Digital Heritage and Humanities research. In conjunction with this, participants deepen their knowledge of how to use digital collections, datasets and tools in their research by participating in one of three thematic workshop strands of their choice under guidance by experts. Participants can choose between the following three strands:
- Applications of Linked Data in Heritage and Humanities
- Audiovisual Collections and Media Analysis
- (Cultural Heritage) Research Data and Ethical, Legal and Social Issues (ELSI)
This year’s confirmed speakers include Adelheid Heftberger and Vicky Garnett, PhD., and we are very much looking forward to workshop sessions with Norah Karrouche, Chiara Latronico, Jetze Touber, Marjan Grootveld Andrea Meuzelaar and Maria Eskevich (and more to be announced!).
RMA students and PhD candidates can obtain ECTS credits for their participation in the summer school. More information about the event and registration here.
